- 1. How do I use & care for my CC Power
Supply?
Recommended Battery Usage and Care for CC Power Supply
Proper Battery Use
Monitor your low battery indicator.
At a minimum, charge your battery when the low battery’s yellow
LED light is illuminated.
NEVER over deplete your battery such that the low battery indicator’s
red LED light is illuminated.
Allow your battery to charge intermittently if possible. Short charge/discharge
cycles are preferable to
long charge/discharge cycles. This will extend the life of your battery
without having to replace it.
The battery should NEVER be completely discharged. Complete discharge
of the battery will shorten battery life.
Battery may be charged during use. (For FX2 carts only)
Batteries SHOULD be recharged at the end of each day even if battery
discharge is minimal.
General Characteristics and Maintenance
Batteries should NEVER be stored in a discharged state.
Under normal operating conditions (refer to proper battery use) our
batteries will provide between 200 and
1000 charge/discharge cycles, depending on the average depth of the
discharge and operating hardware
attached to the battery.
When cart is not in use and battery is charging, turn off computer
and or monitor for optimal recharge of the battery.
Only use CompuCaddy products to interchange or replace parts for the
CompuCaddy stand.
Conserving Power as You Work
Turn off wireless and local area network (LAN) connections, if not
needed for job while you work.
Exit modem applications when not in use.
Initiate standby, hibernation mode or shut down your computer system
when not in use.
Select a short wait for the screen saver and one with minimal graphics.
A blank screen is preferable.
Set background color to black
Set your computer bios to maximum power conservation.
Energy Star Settings
Windows 95 - Select Start, Settings, Control Panel, and Display. (You
also can right-click on your desktop and select Properties.) Select
the Screen Saver tab. Choose a predominantly black screen saver and
set it to wait 5 minutes.
Click the Low-Power Standby box and set for 10 minutes. Click the
Shut Off Monitor box and set for 20 minutes.
Click Ok or Apply. Windows 98/ME/2000 - Select Start, Settings, Control
Panel, and Display.
(You also can right-click on your desktop and select Properties.)
Select the Screen Saver tab. Choose a predominantly
black screen saver and set it to wait 5 minutes. Click on "Settings"
to reach the power management settings. Click the
Shut Off Monitor box and set for 10 minutes. We recommend that you
do not change any other settings that apply to the
computer. Click Ok or Apply. (Note that these versions of Windows
support only one power-down level, the Suspend
state.) Windows NT does not support Energy Star, so you cannot activate
the low-power settings through the Control Panel.
You still can select a dark desktop background and screen saver. Energy
Star still can be activated through the computer's
set-up program, which varies among computer models. Contact your computer
support staff if you need assistance.
